The CBI will be seeking the custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case after the Enforcement Directorate’s remand ends, sources told India Today on Wednesday.
The AAP Chief, arrested in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped liquor policy on March 21, was remanded to Enforcement Directorate custody until March 28.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate today urged the Delhi High Court to grant it time to file reply to a plea by Kejriwal challenging his arrest.
S V Raju, the Additional Solicitor General representing the agency, requested three weeks’ time to respond to the “bulky” petition, which was served to them only on Tuesday.
On Friday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had remanded Kejriwal in the ED’s custody “for his detailed and sustained interrogation”. He was arrested hours after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him protection from coercive action.
