In an apparent open rebellion within the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, two senior Congress leaders came out openly against Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, hours after it announced its candidate list.
Opposing Shiv Sena’s decision to field Amol Kirtikar in Mumbai’s North-West Lok Sabha seat, senior Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam asserted that Uddhav Thackeray’s party gave a ticket to a ‘khichdi chor’, referring to the Covid kichdi scam in Mumbai.
Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat also criticised Shiv Sena’s Sangli pick, Chandrahar Patil, saying he will not be able to win the seat and asked the party to reconsider the decision.
