The rift between Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) parties in Maharashtra was out in the open on Wednesday after Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam launched a scathing attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) for prematurely announcing the candidates for four seats in Mumbai for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Addressing a press conference, Nirupam said the declaration of Amol Kirtikar’s candidacy for Mumbai North-West seat was a “violation of alliance dharma” and called the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader a “khichdi chor”.

“The Sena has given ticket to a khichdi chor… We will not work for khichdi chor candidates,” Nirupam said in a no-holds-barred attack on the Uddhav Sena faction.
